PERSEVERANCE – The Story of Dr. Billy Taylor is a powerful new documentary exploring the life of one of Michigan’s greatest running backs. The film highlights Taylor’s college glories but goes deeper, to explore the setbacks that destroyed his reputation….and set him on a 25-year roller coaster ride to recover it.
PERSEVERANCE contains seldom-seen Michigan Football film footage and photographs, and touches on multiple social and human themes. The film celebrates the legacy of Michigan tradition, and Bo Schembechler’s important role in Taylor’s story. Featured interview subjects include Gary Moeller, Jerry Hanlon, David Brandon, Don Moorhead, Thom Darden, Henry Hill, Bruce Madej, John U. Bacon and Tom Ufer, in addition to Billy Taylor and members of his family.
PERSEVERANCE The film is co-directed by Michigan alums Dan Chace and Bob Hercules. A question and answer with Taylor and the filmmakers will follow both screenings.
Approximately one hour in length, the film is appropriate for viewers of all ages. Dr. Taylor will be available following the event to greet fans and sign autographs.
